Omokoroa peninsula was once a sleepy seaside settlement 15km north of Tauranga. Locals often call it the ‘paradise peninsula’ so it’s little wonder its popularity has soared in recent years.

Stretching out into Tauranga Harbour, this serene spot is a wonderful place to stroll along the water’s edge, enjoy a round of golf or head out for a day’s fishing.

The population is predicted to rise from 3000 to 12,000 people over the next decade and that explosion has seen a swathe of upmarket homes and subdivisions spring up around Omokoroa Country Estate.

New Amenities On Offer

A new Fresh Choice supermarket has already helped transform the area into a self-sufficient community, and plans are underway to build an additional 40 boutique shops and 10 offices which will be just a short walk away for our village residents.

A medical centre, pharmacy, dentist, optometrist, hair salon and other amenities are also close by, and a new bus stop will soon be installed right outside our village entrance – providing easy access into Tauranga city which is completely free when using your Gold Card during off-peak travel times.

A new $13m cycleway linking Omokoroa and Tauranga is also due to open sometime between April and June 2019, providing a smooth 19km pathway along the inner harbour for people to enjoy.

Omokoroa is certainly changing at a rapid pace but it remains one of the safest communities you’ll find anywhere in New Zealand. The strong sense of belonging and pride – felt within our village and by other locals – means this will always be a special place to call home.
