It’s always important to have the right person at the helm and our new Village Manager Brendon Russo couldn’t be more suited to the job of leading our new community and helping residents to settle into their new homes.

Brendon was born and bred in Cambridge and previously worked at Sanderson Group’s head office in Tauranga before returning home to the Waikato 18 months ago. He’s thrilled we have chosen to enter the Waikato market so he can re-join our family-owned company once again.

As our Village Manager, Brendon will be in charge of all day-to-day operations including running our activities programme, helping residents connect their power and other services, and overseeing our landscaping and property staff.

“I’ll be making sure the transition to our village is as seamless and stress-free as possible for our residents so they can quickly become integrated into our community,” he explains. “It’s a unique role. You become closely associated with residents and I pride myself on building strong relationships.”

Brendon has a background in marketing and hospitality and has worked in the retirement village sector for the past six years. “This will be the fourth village I’ve been involved with from the very start. I really enjoy interacting with residents. Everyone has had an interesting journey so it’s a real privilege for me to be involved in their lives in some small way.”

He’s looking forward to helping establish a warm and inviting community at Tamahere that keeps residents fully engaged. “Our residents have reached the retirement stage of life but it’s certainly time for them to reap the rewards of all their hard work. So my goal is to provide them with an active lifestyle which they can enjoy.”

Brendon is married with two young daughters and enjoys running and spending time at Waihi Beach. He lives just down the road in Cambridge and is thrilled to be raising his own family in such a beautiful part of the world.
