Pancake day
Tuesday was a morning of all mornings – residents gathered to the dining room for a display of cooking skills making pancakes – all shapes and sizes were produced, cooled and then eaten with lashings of jam, cream and yummy stuff! Residents enjoyed the feast for morning tea, then sat in a circle where they were given home-made bats (produced from the Good Age Work Book), and using brought pancakes (only because the residents had eaten all the ones made) the GREAT PANCAKE RACE was on !!!!
Residents v Staff – with one hand, we passed the pancake to the next person, bounced the pancake three times and then passed it on again. Great fun was had by all, pancakes flying everywhere! And the winner was …….. no other than our Cook, Jude ….. do you think she had some practice??? Heaps of fun and heaps of laughter, thank you to all who joined in..

Entertainment
What a great start of our New Year – we are well into our programme and have begun this year with some excellent entertainment. We invited a young lady called Tegan to entertain our residents with some wonderful country music. Tegan accompanied herself on her guitar and played & sang some wonderful mixtures of old and new renditions. Tegan was a finalist in the NZCMA Entertainer of the Year competition this year; she has won many awards on the country music circuit and we were very lucky to have her come to entertain us.
This is just the start of our wonderful line up of entertainers; we are planning a “Country Ho-down Day”, concert, children’s choir, staff singing and special guests.
