A great day was enjoyed all, a beautiful sunny day, and plenty of fierce bowling.

A total of 8 retirement villages entered 16 teams, a total of 64 bowlers, making the day extremely eventful and a great social catch up was enjoyed by all.

CONGRATULATIONS to John and Noeline on your 65th Weddinig Anniversary

On the 16th March we celebrated with John and Noeline,a great time sharing and reflecting on past memories whilst also celebrating the present.

The Bay News were onto it, and were delighted to feature John and Noeline front page, remembering John for his WW2 participation especially in light of the impending ANZAC day. They also ran another article featuring there 65th Wedding Anniversay.

Great to have such celebrites in the community.

As always, it is our pleasure and a delight to whole heartedly welcome new residents into the village. This quarter we have had 8 more residents join us.

This year the Christmas dinner was attended by 113 residents and staff, and lived up to expectations by all. Lots of laughs and mingling throughout the evening. Tasty Thymes were again our excellent chefs providing  a scrumptious three course dinner. We were entertained by the Katikati Chordials and their melodiuos harmony was well received.

An energitic bunch of residents, supported by an equally energetic group of onlookers, joined together on Sunday afternoon for a boystrous novelty relay competition. Amongst all the excitement came a moment of dispair and laughter caused by the dentures of a hard blowing swimmer to be nearly lost to the depths of the pool, had it not been for the quick reflex actions of an adjacent competitor, who was latterly greatly admired by all for the speed in which she recovered the said dentures.

This annual event was again enjoyed by many as all participated in the sweep stake, drawing horses by lot - takes the hard work out of being too serious - some by chance took the prizes, sharing the spoils with those that happened to be around at the time by way of "light" refreshments. The high "hat" fashions displayed by the many beautiful woman were very much enjoyed by all, particularly the men - who did not miss out, but had their their time to pose their way through a regorous time of selecting the "best dressed man". A great afternoon enjoyed by all.

Finally the great hole in the middle of the entrance round-about has been transformed into a spectacular fountain, providing a wonderful welcome to all that enter the village gates. The sheet of water that flows so evenly over the fountain bowl creates a glass like see through impression. The rocks below compliment the natural ambience and the mondo grass edging further strengthens the landscape character of the village.
